Dear Reader,
The year 2008 will see more life-changing releases from Namaste Publishing than any year since I founded the company over a decade ago for the sole purpose of bringing Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now into the world.
At that time, I did not know that there would be two more books from Eckhart, let alone that I would publish other authors.
Namaste Publishing's mission is not to publish as many books as possible, but rather to very selectively publish only those books that we believe make a unique contribution to the evolution of human consciousness on the planet.
We are deeply excited about the books we will be publishing in 2008. These groundbreaking works offer remedies for areas of our lives that may still require healing before we can step up and become active participants in this evolution of consciousness that is now occuring at an acclerated pace.
In this issue of the newsletter, we will give you a glimpse of what is to come throughout the course of 2008.
We also offer you two songs that you can download without charge, from a songwriter whose work is dedicated to spreading the message of present moment awareness.
Additionally, Michael Brown, author of The Presence Process, has prepared a New Year’s letter that you can download for your enrichment.
May this be a year in which each of us enters into a deeper consciousness of our divine essence. By bringing this greater awareness into every aspect of our lives, we cannot help but transform our world into a more humane and loving home for all.
Namaste,
Constance Kellough

TAKE A LIFE-TRANSFORMING LEAP INTO THIS LEAP YEAR
Self-help is such a major industry that books in this category get a rating all of their own in the New York Times bestseller listings.
The popularity of self-help reflects just how many people are searching for who they are, seeking enlightenment, or in some other way trying to change because they don’t feel comfortable with themselves as they are.
“Many have a love-hate relationship with their lives,” says Constance Kellough in The Leap—Are You Ready to Live a New Reality? Such individuals don’t allow themselves “to experience with abandonment the joy of life.”
Constance says that “most of us live in perpetual dislike of different elements of ourselves. We are plagued by self-doubt, which causes us to second-guess ourselves all the time. We are forever looking over our shoulder, wondering if we are doing the right thing.”
For all of our efforts at self-improvement, attempts to change, and longing to be “enlightened,” the reality is that most of us know exactly what Constance is talking about. The self-doubt she speaks of is something we experience each day of our lives.
But Constance challenges us: “Did it ever occur to you that by not accepting yourself as you are, you actively deny who you are?”
Here is the root of our problem—that we deny who we are.
The only “change” we need in our lives is to quit trying to change ourselves and simply be who we are in our most authentic self. The only “enlightenment” we need is to realize that there is nothing wrong with us other than the false way we have come to think and feel about ourselves.
The reality is that “when people seek to change themselves, they are usually banking on their ability to perfect their egoic self,” Constance explains.
But the “improved” version of ourselves that we end up with after all our effort is still our false self—the self we learned to be in the atmosphere of pretense in which we grew up. It is simply an improved act.
Who we are doesn’t need improving, but rather needs to be embraced. For when we are our most natural selves, without any kind of act or affect, we are pure love, infinite peace, and boundless joy.
Did you ever think of your natural state as your most spiritual state?
Almost the whole world believes just the opposite—that our most natural state is somehow flawed. Yet it’s by being true to ourselves—authentic, genuine, real, without any pretense—that we are truly spiritual.
Each of us simply needs to embrace the truth of ourselves, as we are this very moment, without any kind of self-improvement or change.
As we enter this New Year of 2008, Namaste Publishing invites you to take The Leap into living a new reality—a reality in which we totally and wholeheartedly accept ourselves, allowing who we really are to effortlessly, spontaneously, and quite naturally pour forth as a gift to our world—without any blockage of self-doubt, self-criticism, or self-deprecation.
May this be a year is which we each become deeply conscious of the incredibly wonderful beings we truly are.

Michael Brown, author of The Presence Process, says of The Leap:
“The deeper I sink into The Leap, the more it becomes obvious that it is the most accessible and authentic book about stillness that I have yet read. The Leap reads like a quiet conversation about ‘the power of stillness’ that Constance Kellough has been having within herself since she first encountered Eckhart Tolle in 1997. To authentically accomplish the evolutionary leap from separated to collective consciousness, this is a conversation we too must enter within ourselves. Constance’s writing gently invites us to commence this internal dialogue in a way that is effortless, comprehensible, and accessible to all. The Leap is a step we all have to take communicated in a way we can all understand.” |

COMING RELEASES FROM NAMASTE PUBLISHING FOR 2008
Alchemy of the Heart
Transform Turmoil into Peace through Emotional Integration
By Michael Brown
“The pursuit of happiness is the source of our unhappiness,” writes author and teacher Michael Brown in a brand new book to be released in the spring of 2008.
Alchemy of the Heart is a shorter and easier read than Michael’s first book, The Presence Process, thereby serving as a good introduction to this earlier work. Simultaneously, it invites us to go even deeper!
The book’s message is encapsulated in its subtitle: Transform Turmoil into Peace Through Emotional Integration.
To become emotionally integrated is the portal to joy, which is quite different from the “happiness” so many of us pursue. Says Michael, “Joy is not about feeling good or having life be easy. Joy is about feeling everything and having life be just as it is.”
The consequence of our pursuit of happiness is that “if we try to feel better, we end up feeling worse. If we try to make things easier, we end up making them harder. If we try to enforce peace, we seed conflict. If we try to be good, we become evil.”
When we try to make our lives “easy,” we enter into boredom. By pursuing happiness, we avoid the very things that make life fascinating.
As Michael explains, “Joy takes us beyond boredom into The Kingdom of Life, where all is constantly created anew through the embrace of the unknown. The pursuit of happiness, on the other hand, is a constant stance of avoid-dance—a dance around the void instead into it.”
Alchemy of the Heart: Transform Turmoil into Peace Through Emotional Integration will first be available from the Namaste Publishing iStore, then by May 1 through any bookstore.

Transcend Your Toughest Times
Shake off the Effects of Stress and Trauma
By David Berceli, PhD
What happens in our bodies when we are under stress, and how can we mitigate the effects of stress?
Why do we become anxious, and how does our anxiety affect us?
From the time we enter the world to the time we leave it, life is not only a stressful and anxious experience for most of us, but it is also a traumatic experience.
Few of us have any real conception of how much trauma we have experienced in our lives, let alone how deeply we have been affected by this trauma.
At each of the various stages of our lives, we have all encountered events that have been a shock to our system—and that have greatly impact our physical health, mental and emotional state, and overall wellbeing.
No one escapes traumatic experiences. And as long as the effects of trauma dog our steps, it’s simply not possible for us to function at our peak. Knowing how we have been affected by these experiences, and how we can free ourselves from their effects, is crucial when it comes to living a magnificent life.
Depression, chronic fatigue, ill health, and even suicidal tendencies all find their roots in trauma that often goes unidentified.
Transcend Your Toughest Times is a revolutionary approach that anyone can use in the privacy of their own home, in even the remotest parts of the world, to overcome the effects of stress, anxiety, and trauma.

Balance Your Brain—Heal Your Life
By Lee Gerdes, PhD
No matter how much spiritual work we engage in, our ability to actualize the incredible potential we have as human beings is limited by the state of our brain.
If the different lobes of the brain are out of balance, and the left and right hemispheres don’t function optimally, the person we truly are in our essence cannot find full expression.
Brain state conditioning is an individually tailored method of balancing and optimizing the brain. It involves using electrodes, at specific points on the skull, that read brain energy.
By collecting the brain waves of an individual, it’s possible to produce computer feedback based on the data collected. Training the brain to function in an optimal way involves computer translation of brain waves into sounds that represent optimum patterns for the brain. These sounds vary by note and by volume based on how the brain is functioning. This allows the brain a means of observing itself, and thereby self-correcting its balance.
This results in life solutions that vary from the elimination of depression, eating and sleep disorders, stress, and addictive tendencies, to pain mitigation and optimization of our performance.
When our brain is balanced, it removes stubborn blocks to our personal development and opens the way to the flow of spirit. Our development can then happen in a more accelerated and complete way.

Mister Ego and the Bubble of Love
By Amber Hinton
Illustrated by Gabreyhl Zintoll
This is our first children’s book, and we are publishing it in response to an ongoing and increasingly pressing demand from parents for spiritual literature for their children.
Geared to children of a young age, Mister Ego and the Bubble of Love is the work of a new author, Canadian Amber Hinton. This 32-page colored picture book is illustrated in a unique manner by Gabreyhl Zintoll, a Vancouver artist.
In Mister Ego and the Bubble of Love, two brothers, Leo and Nils, are at play when one grabs the other’s ball. In angry retaliation, the other knocks down his brother’s building blocks. Tears bring Mother running.
Mister Ego and the Bubble of Love helps young children understand the origin of their rage, then teaches them how to calm themselves, as well as how to avoid a fight with their siblings next time around.

BELIEVING IS HEALING
A New Year's Message from Ron Garner
Author of Conscious Health
When flu season approaches, do you imagine yourself getting the flu? Are you so fearful that you rush out to get a flu shot?
Do you suspect you are going to get cancer because some of your relatives did?
Do you think that if you become ill, you will be able to heal yourself?
As Henry Ford said so eloquently, “”Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.”
There is a mass of research into how our beliefs affect our health.
Believing you are in a state of wellness, or believing you are going to die from a particular disease, sets up respective immune responses which tend to foster a state of health that accords with your belief.
Dr Joel Elkes, a renowned psychiatrist and philosopher, states that wellness is a state of connectedness and wholeness. He points out that, historically, healing began in the churches and was closely related to the religious beliefs of both healer and healee. Healers, operating from their belief in wholeness, connect the patient to his or her own healing energy through belief.
Down through the ages, across every tribe, nation, and culture, people have sensed, sought, and practiced some form of mental communication with God, the Great Spirit, or whatever they believed the ultimate force or presence to be. Even so-called non-believers often turn to a quick prayer in times of crisis.
Perhaps, not understanding the connection between our body, mind, and spirit, we search for meaning outside ourselves. We seek a sense of control and an understanding of how we fit in. The power of awareness of this connection, and the ability to balance body, mind, and spirit, has been used in healing practices in many cultures for thousands of years.
Traditional Chinese medicine believes that all disease is an imbalance of life forces. Hence, in this approach, an underlying imbalance within the body, mind, and spirit can be treated from an energetic standpoint.
The Navajo people practice the art of healing the soul first, then the mind, and lastly the body.
Many Hispanic healers believe that all disease is a failure or attack of the spirit in the same sense that we might refer to a type of failure of the body as a heart attack.
Of utmost importance in all these healing modalities, patients must have a passionate desire to get well, coupled with boundless faith that they will.

THROUGH THE PORTAL
FROM COMPLETION TO ACTIVATION
A New Year's Letter from Michael Brown
Greetings from Princeton, New Jersey
Welcome to the 2008 New Year’s Letter. As with past editions of these particular writings, insights are drawn from both personal experience and a numerological system I have relied upon for many years.
According to where we are in the numbers, many of us may have been feeling as if we are wading through a perceptual fogginess. This may manifest as an inability to explain to ourselves exactly what has been going on, or to perceive with any sense of surety where we are headed. Or both. This somewhat misty perceptual condition is the intended experiential environment right now, so we are to have no concern about it.
We are now moving from 2007, which is a 9-year, into 2008, which is a 1-year. We are now transitioning from a frequency whose primary intent is completion, into one whose primary intent is commencement. We are in the midst of an ending and a beginning.
If there is ever a time to use the expression “between a rock and a hard place,” this is it. However, within the context of this transition, this expression does not necessarily refer to being in the midst of great difficulty and discomfort. It refers to having one foot lifting off from a world that is now a dying concept, with the other foot simultaneously touching down into a world that defies the limitations of conceptualization.
